May 2008

Our last update was in 2005. What a ride this has been! Kid Angel has achieved many goals in the past three years. We, that include you too, have so much to be grateful for.

  • To date we have served over 500 students in San Diego County as part of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) funding program. We currently serve 6 separate school districts In San Diego

  • Of all 36 NLCB providers for the San Diego Union School District, Kid Angel Learning Labs has the overall highest achievement percentage per student from pre test to post test

  • Kid Angel is now partnered with 8 other non-profit organizations in order to bring our Learning Labs to their communities. Our Learning Labs sites are increasing and we will be expanding up the Coast.

  • Our Executive Director and Chief Visionary, Barbara Antinoro, was asked by www.Education.com to be an Educational Counselor for its Discussion Board. www.Education.com is the largest viewed educational website online. On average they receive 650,000 hits/views per month. Barbara feels very blessed to be able to assist parents all from all over the world who ask questions regarding their children’s education through the www.Education.com Discussion Board.

  • Fall 2008 Barbara will be working full time on the creation of an educational talk show for parents. We can’t say that Barbara doesn’t dream big!! Knowing her, it’s just a matter of time. Stay tuned!

  • Our Director of Development, Richard Farace, will be maintaining the day to day operations of the Kid Angel Learning Lab and our Scholarship program, while other programs are developed by Barbara.

  • We saved the best for last on our latest update. Kid Angel has now created monies for 120 Kid Angel Scholarships! We have already given away over 40 scholarships to underserved families and will continue to do so as an ongoing project for Kid Angel through the summer months.

  • This fall we will also be offering FREE English Language Learners (ELL) classes to the parents of our NCLB students.

This was our DREAM, to offer free classes. A mere 4 years later - we are! We first give thanks to the Lord above, who through him all things are possible. To our Board of Directors, our teachers, our partners and all the friends of Kid Angel that have assisted us over the years and believed in our mission, these are your accomplishments too. Bless you all. Hold on, the best is yet to be! We’ve only just begun……..

Barbara has been blessed by receivng pro-bono Public Relations services from Grant Landis who owns Americus Public Relations Company. To date Grant has gotten Barbara interviews with KFMB-TV (local CBS in San Diego on August 31

  • KUSI-TV (local station in San Diego on September 7th)
  • KNSD-TV (local NBC in San Diego on September 9th)


He has also contacted and heard back from 9 National Pet Publications that intend to write articles on Barbara's patented pet product Koodels! The first artlicle is scheduled to come out Oct/Nov. The others will follow from October throught mid December.

Mission Hills Resident Barbara Antinoro Recieves the 10leadership Award

10News honors Barbara Antinoro for her efforts in creating the Kid Angel Foundation a non profit, which provides funding to help children reach their academic level and counseling for parents.


Barbara saw first hand working at Sylvan Learning Center, the dire need of educational support for children and parents of San Diego. Barbara recognized what supplemental education can do, and talked to many parents who could not afford the proper tools to help educate their children. In April of 2001, Barbara created the Kid Angel Foundation a place which, aids families with the skills needed in order to be more proactive in their child’s education. The foundation provides free tutors for children who are struggling in their academics, and counseling for parents who are unsure of how to guide and support their child through school. Barbara focuses mainly on areas of San Diego that have the most need for attention. Over $5,600 has been raised and awarded to students who are behind on their academics and to help improve their level of education. Most importantly, the program provides scholarships, educational literature, and software to improve reading to those who cannot afford them.


Through Barbara’s invention of Koodels, moist heat or cool packs for pets, she has found one way to raise money for the foundation. Donations and support are still greatly needed to allow the Kid Angel Foundation to reach out to more families locally and eventually worldly. Barbara is not paid for her work with the Kid Angel Foundation and uses much of her own makings to fund the program.


Barbara Antinoro will receive the 10Leadership Award on March 3rd at the Kid Angel Foundation, Clairemont. Watch 10News Live @ 5:00 on Thursday, March 18th for the presentation of the award.
